Last night I played a little game.
I would click on a random picture from the main page and, using just a bit of intuition, see how many users I have to go through before finding my way home to my page.
The lowest number so far is three. So, one random image led me to one stranger, some bells started ringing, and then I found a very familiar name.
Other attempts ranged from five hops to some points where I would get stuck landing on fresh accounts with not as many names to pick from. But I never found myself wandering around for too long.
Yes, so I have some quite noticed people on my friendlist (and they deserve the limelight I might add). But that doesn't say anything really taking into account that this is supposed to be a fairly large community.
I guess the purpose of this was to see how intertwined people are here. I don't know what I had expected. Just like in any common room, if you mingle around long enough you are bound to run into a familiar face. No revelations, or black holes, there.
It goes to show, though, that one can surface, as many artists just did. Surface and re-surface. And, well, shows that, despite all, this house provides the service it was built for.
But I'm digressing here.
I have a new game in mind.
